WHAT COUNTS AS A CHANGE ORDER?
Atomized content: the built derivatives
Colin Wright | colin@colin.io | colin.io/portfolio/change-order-research/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

A ten-page research brief, built from 130,782 public federal contract
actions, was mapped into a 26-asset content program across six tiers.
Five of those assets were built. Four of the five are in this archive.
The fifth, the reproducibility package, is a separate download because
it is a zip of its own.

WHAT IS IN HERE

  change-evidence-standard_one-pager.svg
The seven-field reference the brief promises on its back cover.
Condition, Evidence, Direction, Impact, Classification, Resolution,
Closure. Portrait, sized for print or download.

  definition-gap_carousel-slide.svg
      The 3.24 / 17.07 / 17.36 finding, recut from a landscape figure to
a 4:5 portrait slide for social. The lead slide of a nine-slide
      carousel.

  why-i-stopped-calculating-change-order-cost.md
The lead article, and the opener of a five-post series. A
first-person account of why the thesis contracted twice, written
to stand alone and point back to the brief.

  webinar_deck-skeleton.svg
A forty-minute run of show across six slides, with the three
planned clip moments marked before recording rather than hunted
      for afterward.

  what_counts_as_a_change_order.pdf
The source brief itself, included so the derivatives can be read
against the work they came from.

The reproducibility package (script, methodology, derived panel, and
manifest) is downloadable on its own:

ABOUT THE FILES

The SVGs are design-system previews built from the brief's own visual
language. They open in any browser or vector editor and can be recut per
channel without redrawing. Finished collateral would be produced from
them.

Northline Field Research is a fictional imprint used to present this
independent research project as a finished property. It is not a real
client, and every publisher and call-to-action element is labeled as
sample material.

VERIFYING THE NUMBERS

Every figure in these derivatives traces to the frozen analysis behind
the brief. The dataset and code download includes a verification script
that checks all 23 published figures and reports pass or fail on each.
